Hello and welcome back! Today's card features the fabulous Pop of Paradise set as a box card! I love making these specialty box cards and adds such a wow factor when completed. The black and white bold stripes from the coordinating Pop of Pink specialty designer series paper looks so striking against the bright colours of the flamingos and foliage. The base card is Basic Black and is an A2 size card when folded flat.
There's a lot of fussy cutting gone into making this card but so worth it when you see the final results. It creates such a great scene with the flamingos free standing against the tropical leaves.
The flamingo's have been stamped in Flirty Flamingo and then stamped over the top with Basic Black Stampin' write marker for the legs and beaks. I found the MISTI tool very helpful for this two step and multi stamping and can go back and stamp again to get a more defined impression. The pineapples have been stamped twice and masked each section to separate the colours. The body is stamped with Daffodil Delight and Cucumber Crush for the leaves. I have used stampin' dimensional to have them raised.
The tropical leaves are stamped in Emerald Envy (palm leaves) and Cucumber Crush for the smaller one. I have made a Thank You card and the banner sentiment has been gold heat embossed and just adds that elegant pop of colour. To further accentuate the gold, I have loosely looped around gold metallic thread on the back and added three gold metallic enamel dots randomly.
Here are more photos of the box card front in various angles:
The back of the box card:
More fussy cutting... The flamingo has been mounted with foam dimensionals and has been arranged with the tropical leaves, pineapple and the gold heat embossed hello sentiment. The circle sentiment has been punched out using the 1'1/4" punch and has been mounted with foam dimensionals. For the remaining space I will add a personal greeting on vellum and place over the striped background and will have a sheer transparent layered look when placed on the top. To cover any adhesive on the vellum, I will use gold metallic dots.
I have entered this card in the following card challenges:
Both challenges are perfect to showcase the Pop of Paradise set and Fussy Cutting!
Please check out the creative projects from the talented design team from both card challenges and hopefully you'll join in the fun too!
I hope you enjoyed this card project and found inspiration. The Pop of Paradise is such a fun set and works perfectly for this 3D box card.
Thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you next time. Cheers! :)
