Crazy About You - Global Design Project #39 - Theme: Get Well Soon

Hello and welcome back! It's another exciting card challenge over at Global Design Project and this week is a 'Get Well Soon' theme. What a great opportunity to make one, as I haven't actually made any yet and I'm sure it will come in handy at some stage. I wanted to have a play with the "Crazy About You" bundle with the Hello You thinlits, and fortunately has been carried over to the new catalogue. I purchased this before June to make use of the special bundle offer. It's available separately in the new catalogue. It also has a coordinating medallion punch which will be on my wishlist. :) The Photopolymer set is brilliant as you can see through for easier stamping.

It's a wonderful set that can go very far and has so many greetings that can be adapted for many occasions. I especially love the coordinating thinlits and looks so effective when paired with the stamped sentiment. Adding the floral decoration just completes the look. Here is my card...

I went with "Thinking of You" as it's an open personal statement and goes well with the Get Well Soon theme. The layout I have used is similar to the previous card I made using the "You've Got This" set. Click here to see the post. I just love the look of a framed sentiment against a hint of sky background. As you can see the flowers and leaves have become the frame, and it frames the panel and sentiment beautifully. :)

I have used Tempting Turquoise for the background using the mini blending tool from Ranger to apply the colour. The frame/panel has been die cut using the stitched rectangle layers dies from Memory Box, just love the faux stitched border effect. This panel has been mounted on fun foam for an even raise. The sentiment has been white heat embossed and love the contrast with the beautiful die cut "You' from the coordinating Hello You thinlits.

The flowers have been stamped with two shades of ink and have incorporated the new ink colors.

Colour combination used:

Peekaboo Peach + Daffodil Delight (outer flowers)
Flirty Flamingo + Watermelon Wonder (centre flower)
Certain Celery + Cucumber Crush (leaves)

I first stamped the image in full with the lighter shade ink and then applied the darker shade on top but only half by dabbing off half of the ink from the stamp image and this gives a gradient shading almost ombre effect. Using the Photopolymer set makes this so much easier to line the image for this process. I then took my scissors and fussy cut around the images and mounted them on using Stampin' dimensionals. I then decided to trim the top half of the flowers as it was a bit too large and top heavy and this just compliments the framed look by containing the top part. I have added a small pearl accent on the centre flower and applied clear wink of Stella for some shimmer.

I couldn't leave the inside blank and have added the same elements from the card front and kept a simple layering and used the whole flower image with a clear wink of Stella for some shine.

I hope you have enjoyed my card and have been inspired. For more inspirations please check the creative projects over at Global Design Project and hope you will join in the fun.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you again soon. Cheers! :)

  3. I love that you always manage to bring something new and unusual to the table Juana. In this case, the straight line edge on top of the flowers. It frames your sponged panel beautifully! Thanks for playing at Global Design Project with us this week.
